Our classes are designed to introduce new fabrics, fibers and stitching techniques. (New stitching friends are an added bonus). Fees are payable in full upon registration and are not refundable or transferable unless the class is canceled by the shop. Class models may be viewed in the shop.

Royal Roses - a Just Nan "class only" project

Stitch a delicate sampler containing bands of Tudor roses and flowers accented with snowy lace, double running butterflies and a tiny gold crown. Features 13 special stitches - - - including petit point.

Prerequisite: Ability to stitch over 2 threads

An introduction to "withdrawn" thread embroidery - the removal of threads from the fabric followed by weaving the remaining threads into decorative bands. You will learn hemstitching, satin stitching, twisted threads, alternating twisted threads, coral knots, festoons, honeycomb stitch, fly stitch, buttonhole stitch, smyrna cross, rococo variation, sheaf stitch, pulled 3-sided, lazy daisy, and rosette.

Children’s Beginner Cross Stitch

Let your child learn to share your love of stitching. Sharon will teach each child at their own pace on a project geared to each child’s age.

Workbook of Stitches

This class will explore the stitches used in counted thread embroidery. You will receive a "fabric" workbook in which to stitch the various stitches. This session will cover: Rococo (aka Queen) Stitch, Rhodes Stitch and Hemstitch used as a fringe edging.

Beginner Hardanger

Prerequisite: Ability to stitch over 2 threads

This class will enter you into the world of hardanger embroidery with a bread cloth that will be used for years and years. This project covers klosters, eyelets, dove’s eye and hand hemming. It prepares you for more intermediate classes. You will need a pair of tiny tip scissors which are not included in the teaching fee.

Needle Tatting for Beginners
